Alan Shearer says £22m midfielder wanted by Arsenal is ‘really exciting’ and ‘makes your job easier as a forward’
Arsenal are likely to revamp their squad in the summer transfer window in wake of a season which looks set to end without the Premier League title once again.
🌳The Gunners are set to bring in some more options up front, particularly at centre-forward as they haven’t had an out-and-out No. 9 this season.

Now, Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker have spoken highly about a mi💞dfielder on Arsenal’s radar, describing him as “really exciting” and also a forward’ꩵs dream.

Alan Shearer says Adam Wharton is a ‘really exciting’ midfielder
Arsenal have set their sights on Adam Wharton, who has been a revelation for Crystal Palace since joining last year.
The £22million man has been sidelined for much of the season due to a groin injury that required surgery in November lastꦯ year.
Wharton has been eased back into action over the past few weeks and he made his return to the starting XI in the midweek Premier League meeting with Aston Vil🦂la.
Lineker and Shearer spoke highly of Wharton – who shone in Palace’s 4-🅠1 win over the Villans – on The Rest Is Football podcast.
“Adam Wharton… he was ♑that player wasn’t he that sneaked into 💜Gareth Southgate’s squad,” said Lineker.
“Heౠ didn’t feature obviously in the Euros, 🍸but you can see the talent there.
“Really good in th♛at position, he’s aggressive but he also keeps the ball – but he looks forwa𝔍rd when he passes as well.”
Shearer then said: “That’s a good thing about him. I think ceཧrtainly, from a🤡 forward’s point of view, is that it’s his first thought I think all the time.
“It mak𓃲es your job easier as a forward when you’ve got a midfielder who’s prepared to do that.
“I know it sounds really simple but a lot of the time you don’t see it but he’s a really talented midfielder – I hope he ❀stays fit now because he’s really exciting.”
Marc Guehi has also spoke෴n very hi𒐪ghly of Wharton in recent days.

Arsenal fans would certainly like to sign Wharton after his heroics against V𒆙illa, but they’re not the only club in the race.
The likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly also൩ looking at Whart💞on, while Palace will be eager to keep hold of him.
