Alan Shearer reveals what he said to Dan Burn immediately after Newcastle won the Carabao Cup

Dan Burn was undoubtedly one of Newcastle United’s biggest heroes during their Carabao Cup triumph against Liverpool at Wembley.

Burn put Newcastle ahead with a thumping heade𝐆r just before half-time, one that is already etched in the history boo🙈ks at St James’ Park.

After the goal went in, cameras almost immediately panned to Alan Shearer bouncing up and down in t🐽he crowd, a proper Geordie loving every moment of a performance in a final that’s been a long time coꦇming.

Micah Richards loved Burn’s performance, and a lot of that credit is seemingly owed to ဣEddie Howe too.

Burn got the better of Alexis Mac Allister from Kieran Tripp🐼ier’s corner and it 🌊was something that Newcastle had identified as a weakness of Arne Slot’s side.

But the legendary Newcastle striker eventually joined the chat frꦅom Amsterdam when he was preparing to go to a Sam Fender concert – a famous Geordie himself.

Speaking🧜 about hi🐻s chat with Burn at the after party, Shearer said: “I said to him last night, I was having a pint with him last night. And I said, you might as well f—- retire, man – because the week you’ve had, it’s not getting any better.

“I said it’s typical Newcastle, the players are off, they’ve all go🌱ne off to Dubai, I th﷽ink.

“Well, they’re all going as a team, you know and I say to Da꧙n it’s typical, you get in the England squad, you can’t go out, you can’t have five or six days breaking the sun now.

“And he said⛎, you know what? He said, I don’t give a damn.ﷺ He said, I can’t wait to get up with England.

“And w😼hen I said to him, you might a🐽s well retire, he went, I might just go on Friday at Wembley.

“I said oh well, yeah, absolutely. Can you imagine? I mean, the lad from Blythe, from Newcastle, to come in and scorജe that first goal.”

How could Thomas Tuchel use Dan Burn with England?

Analysing Thomas Tuchel’s ๊options at the back over the upcoming international break when England play both Albania and Latvia, it seems more than plausible that Burn could make his full debut.

Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi seems destined to♛ start on the right of any centre-back partnership, and Burn would mainly then be competing with eitheꦅr Levi Colwill or Ezri Konsa.

🐷And on form and considering the strength of Burn’s left-foot, he could have a serious chance of starting in a back line that might also contain Tino Livramento.

Livarmento was also excellent against Liverpool, demonstr🔜ating his rich versatility.

And given how many good performers there were at Wembley, Gary Lineker also🍎 had a point to make about Joelintܫon after the game.
