Alan Shearer reacts to latest display from Liverpool centre-back Ozan Kabak
Alan Shearer has claimed that Liverpool may end up signing Ozan Kabak on a permanent basis if his form continues.
Shearer included the £65,000-a-week () defender in his latest edition of Premier League team of the week.
Kabak, 20, helped the Merseyside club keep a clean sheet on Monday night during Liverpool’s 1-0 away win in the league against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The centre-back was signed by the Reds last month from Schalke on a six-month loan with an option to buy, which is worth an initial £18million that could rise to £26.5million with add-ons ().
He’s an inexperienced Turkish star, but is starting to form a centre-half partnership alongside Nat Phillips.
Shearer made his transfer claim about Kabak after his latest display.
“More performances like this and Liverpool may end up making his loan move permanent,”

TBR’s View:
With Liverpool’s injury crisis at centre-back this season, the club were forced to find solutions in the transfer window.
Kabak, who does have seven senior international caps for Turkey, has made a fairly decent start during his first taste of English football.
There are times where he’s looked a little raw with his positioning and decision-making, but the signs are promising.
If he can enjoy a strong end to the season, then it may be a no-brainer to pick him up permanently.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp will need reliable cover for when first-choice centre-back pairing Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk are sidelined like they are now.
