Alan Shearer predicts whether Arsenal can still win the Premier League title after Liverpool beat Man City

Arsenal were handed a double-whammy at the weekend as their shock 1-0 defeat against West Ham United was followed by Liverpool managing to defeat Manchester City 2-0 as well.

While Mikel Arteta would have been hoping that his former colleague Pep Guardiola does ෴him a favour, City’s valiant efforts were unrewarded as Arne Slot’s side continued to prove why they are the best team in the Premier League.

Liverpool now have an 11-point lead at the top of the table over Arsenal — albeit after having played an extra game.

Gary Neville claimed Arsenal hav🦄e been “fumbli🌟ng about” t🦄his season and it is hard to disagree with the popular pundit.

The Gunners’ latest defeat against the Hammers was an example of a game that should have been a routine victory for them🌞 and that too at the Emirates Stadium.

Instead, Arsenal dropped needless points as Myles Lewis-S💧kelly was rightfu♏lly sent off against West Ham.

Alan Shearer says Liverpool’s 2-0 win vs Man City means Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes are over

Arsenal will likely still keep t𓂃he faith and do their best to to⛦pple Liverpool in the title race.

But the worry for the North Londoners might be that even if they put a winn🤡ing run together, it mightꦏ be too little, too late.

Alan Shearer certainly thinks so as in view, Arsenal’s loss against West Ham coupled with Liverpool beating Manchester City means the title fight i💯s all but over — pinpointing that Mikel Arteta’s side lacking a top-class striker has cost them.

Shearer said on The Rest Is Football podcast: “I know it’s been said a million times but it will continue to be said about their lack of firepower or 🌠the lack of a top-class centre-forward, we said it before a ball was kicked. If they didn’t get one in, I didn’t fancy them to win the league and it looks as﷽ if that’s going to be the case and I don’t see them coming back from it now.”

“I don’t see them winning every single game, which is what they have to do and that might no🌸t be enough. And no, I think it’s pretty much done.”

Previously as well, Alan Shearer urged Arsenal to sign a striker to win the league but they did not choose to bring in a brand-new centre-forward in the winter transfer window. Gary Neville criticised Arsenal’s recruitment as he was bewilder⭕ed by their decision not to sign a striker as well.

How many points Liverpool need to mathematically beat Arsenal to title

As things stand, the maximum number of points Liverpool and Arsenal can accrue this seaso♈n is 97 and 89 respectively.

ARSENAL1289

With that being the case, not only will Mikel Arteta have to ensure his team remain flawless until the end of the season but also hope that Arne Slot’s side undergo an incredible capitulation — losing 𝔍more than three games.

But if Liverpool win nine out of their remaining 11 games, Arsenal will mathematically have no🔜 chance of winning the tiജtle.

However, if Arsenal drop more points, the Merseyside-based side’s job will❀ become even easier𒆙.

W🍒ith that being the case, Alan Shearer’s⛄ prediction looks justified.

Mohamed Salah’s dream was to win the league this season over even potentially being a💙warded the Ballon d’Or and it looks like he might be a🃏dding a second title winner’s medal to his trophy cabinet.
