Alan Shearer lauds Chelsea star Reece James after win over Manchester City
Alan Shearer was impressed with Chelsea star Reece James as the Blues secured a victory against Manchester City yesterday.
The Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer was on last night and heaped praise on the young defender.
James was impressive throughout and the right-back looked like developing into a fine talent at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea’s win gives them a big boost in their quest for a top-four finish and puts pressure on the teams around them in the league table.
Shearer was impressed with the performance and selected James as the man for praise.
“Reece James was magnificent in the second half, he gave Benjamin Mendy a horrid time. His pace and quality got Chelsea up the pitch.
“They couldn’t handle him. It was three of four occasions that he did that in the second half. He pulled everyone else up with him.”
