Alan Pardew thinks Mikel Arteta will sell ‘phenomenal’ Arsenal player in January

Alan Pardew has given his verdict on the future of Arsenal winger Emile Smith Rowe under manager Mikel Arteta.

The former Newcastle United manager and talkSPORT pundit thinks that Smith Rowe could be sold this month.

So, what has Alan Pardew said about Emile Smith Rowe? Let’s take a look.

Emile Smith Rowe tipped to leave Arsenal

Well, Alan Pardew has been looking back on Arsenal’s defeat to Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in the FA Cup this past weekend.

Arsenal lost the third-round tie 2-0 to Liverpool in North London. Emile Smith Rowe did not start the match. The 23-year-old, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, came on as a substitute in the 88th minute.

The talkSPORT pundit believes that the England international would improve any team in the bottom half of the Premier League table and is “phenomenal”. Aston Villa have been linked.

Pardew said about Smith Rowe on : “Emile Smith Rowe is a strange one. You have to suspect that he is going to go in this window.

“He will be a fantastic signing for anybody who is not in the top six. I think he will get in any team in the bottom half of the Premier League and take you up a level because he has got a technical level that is phenomenal.”

My View: No future at Arsenal for Emile Smith Rowe

In my opinion, Emile Smith Rowe does not have a future at Arsenal. I think that the 23-year-old should seriously consider his options, if not in the January transfer window, then certainly in the summer of 2024.

Smith Rowe is fit and available now, but he is still not getting into the team. The English youngster has made only one start and five substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played just 41 minutes in the UEFA Champions League this season.

Arsenal signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea in the summer of 2023 despite having Smith Rowe on their books. To me, that shows that manager Arteta does not think that Smith Rowe is good enough to play week in and week out for his team.
