Alan Brazil says Celtic should sign Jack Wilshere, who wanted Rangers move back in 2020
that Celtic should sign free agent Jack Wilshere – months after admitting he would consider a move to Rangers.
Wilshere, 29, remains without a club after Championship side Bournemouth chose not to hand the England international a new deal.
Despite remaining in his twenties, Wilshere’s injury woes are putting off clubs. He recently started training with Italian Serie B side Como.
Since then, he and Mikel Arteta have been in discussions over bringing him back to Arsenal to train – but Arteta ruled out signing him on a free transfer.
, ex-Celtic academy player Brazil urged Celtic to sign Wilshere, saying fans would take to him.

“Get Jack to Celtic,” Brazil said. “I want him to enjoy himself now. Yes [I’d have him on a pay-as-you-play deal]. I think they’d give him a chance.
“Scottish football is lively as one or two have found out. The Celtic fans would take to him if he found his form. Dribbling, running at defenders.”
Brazil on Wilshere: Celtic need a no.10, but so do Rangers
In 2020, Wilshere told DubaiEye radio station , that he would be tempted with a move to Rangers under Steven Gerrard.
“It would interest me because it’s Steven Gerrard and that’s no disrespect to Scotland,” Wilshere said, when asked about a move to Rangers.
But who needs him most, right now? Celtic have brought in a whole host of players, and right now, a left-back is probably their transfer priority.
However, in the 10, Tom Rogic is in and out of form. Bringing in Wilshere would certainly be an improvement – but Rangers could do with one, too.
They lack that midfielder that can take the ball off the likes of Steven Davis and get goals and assists. Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent are better out wide.
So, both Scottish giants could do with Wilshere, amid Brazil’s comments.
