Alan Brazil predicts whether Arsenal will reach the Champions League quarter-finals

Alan Brazil has backed Arsenal to reach the Champions League quarter-finals despite their defeat in Porto last night.

The pundit believes Mikel Arteta’s side will have enough to turn the tie around but warned it will be far from straightforward.

The Gunners fell to a 1-0 defeat at the Estadio do Dragao thanks to a 94th-minute winner from Porto’s Galeno.

Despite dominating the ball, Arteta’s men were only able to create a couple of chances from set-piece situations.

Arsenal were largely frustrated by a well-drilled Porto side on the night and will need to be at their best to turn the tie on its head on March 12.

But Alan Brazil has backed Arsenal to get the job done in north London.

Brazil thinks Arsenal will reach quarter-final stage

Speaking on , Brazil delivered his verdict on Arsenal’s chances of reaching the quarter-finals after last night’s defeat.

“I think Arsenal go through. It won’t be easy but I think they go through,” he said.

Despite a disappointing evening, Arsenal certainly have the quality to turn this one around.

They headed into last night’s game off the back of five constitute wins in the league and were in fine goalscoring form.

Porto defended resiliently on the night but it’s important to note that Arteta’s side weren’t at their free-flowing best in the final third.

If Arsenal produce something close to their best on March 12, you’d imagine they will simply have too much for Porto.

With that being said, winning by two goals in the knockout stages of the Champions League is no easy task and Arsenal will have to be at the top of their game.

We’ve already seen the Gunners put in some exceptional displays at home of late though, picking up a statement win against Liverpool earlier this month.
