Alan Brazil hits back after what he’s heard being said by TalkSPORT pundit about Celtic
The Champions League brings out the usual Celtic snipers whenever results don’t go the way of the Scottish champions.
It’s par for the course really. But what people seem to conveniently forget is that Celtic simply don’t have the finances to compete at this level like the English clubs do.
Which makes talkSPORT presenter, Jason Cundy’s comments last night all the more bizarre.
Jason Cundy takes a swipe at Celtic after Manchester United’s Champions League exit
After United went crashing out of Europe last night after finishing bottom of their group, Cundy couldn’t resist another pop at Celtic on his show.
Cundy said, “There must be Celtic fans laughing. We ribbed Celtic. Man United: you are the Celtic of English football in the Champions League.
“The most goals ever conceded in a group by a Premier League side. 15 goals, the joint worst goals conceded of all 32 clubs in the group stage this season. Joined with Antwerp.”
Now, the difference here is that even though Manchester United have spent over £110m this summer, they will be no better off than Celtic should Brendan Rodgers‘ side beat Feyenoord tonight.
But we’ll also just gloss over the fact that in ten years, the EPL giants as well because there is no sporting advantage given by spending more money, is there?
Alan Brazil hits back at Jason Cundy for Celtic comments
Indeed, this isn’t the first time Brazil’s colleagues have taken a swipe at Celtic this season. It’s completely bizarre how they focus on a club that is not even playing in their league so much.
However, Brazil was having none of it and called out Cundy by asking what exactly has he done in Europe.
Brazil said [], “When was the last time Cundy played in Europe? Was it in Butlins in Amsterdam or something?

“When did he play in Europe? We won it in ‘67 but unlucky in ’70, don’t worry about that.”
Shall I tell you the amazing impact that Cundy has had in Europe? Zero. Nothing. In fact, in just 146 games spanning 12 years, the talkSPORT man has never even touched silverware.
Maybe Cundy should worry about his own team who are sitting 12th in the EPL almost 20 points from the leaders than focusing on Scotland’s most successful club.
