Al-Nassr have now opened talks to sign ‘very talented’ player who Liverpool have made a move for
It would seem that Richard Hughes and his team at Liverpool are determined to launch something of a late onslaught on the transfer front.
Liverpool announced Giorgi Mamardashvili on Tuesday – a strong step in the right direction even if he won’t help Arne Slot immediately.
Mamardashvili already has the quality required to be number one at Anfield, and should be ready to star for the club in two or three years time.
That being said, Liverpool are also pushing hard to sign Federico Chiesa, another top class talent.
Chiesa didn’t quite display his ability as well as Mamardashvili at the Euros, but would be someone who can immediately help Slot on Merseyside.
If he stays fit, Chiesa should be able to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Luis Diaz, offering Slot another natural wideman.
Of course, in the perfect scenario, Liverpool would also add another centre-back to their squad before the deadline, especially given Sepp van den Berg was allowed to leave.
Al-Nassr begin Mohamed Simakan talks after Liverpool made their own approach
Ibrahima Konate partnered Virgil van Dijk against Brentford on Sunday, but it remains to be seen if Slot will prefer Jarell Quansah long-term.
That being said, Liverpool made a move to sign Mohamed Simakan earlier this summer according to reports.

The ‘very talented’ 24-year-old has been thriving at RB Leipzig in a similar vein to Konate once did, and looks set to make his next step imminently.
And whilst Liverpool’s interest has cooled, Fabrizio Romano has shared that Saudi Pro-League side Al-Nassr have now opened talks with Leipzig to sign Simakan.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s side are pushing to sign Milan Skriniar from Paris Saint-Germain, but are chasing Simakan as an alternative.
Romano said: “Al Nassr open talks with RB Leipzig for Mohamed Simakan in case Skriniar deal collapses.
“Deal done between PSG and Al Nassr for Skriniar but still NO green light from the player. Talks ongoing also for Simakan now.”
Of course, whilst Liverpool will never enjoy one of their targets making a move elsewhere, they’re likely more focused on Chiesa right now.
And Italian sources have now detailed how much Liverpool are about to bid for Chiesa with the deal ‘close’.
