Ajax now interested in signing ‘outstanding’ Tottenham player, but there’s already an issue

Ajax are reportedly interested in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but the Dutch giants already have an issue in signing the Tottenham midfielder.

The Danish international has been linked with a move away from north London for some time now, with Ange Postecoglou reportedly open to selling Hojbjerg this January.

With Premier League sides believed to be keen on signing the former Southampton captain, interest is certainly there in Hojbjerg, who could be the next major sale for Tottenham.

And , Ajax have now taken a shine to Hojbjerg, though as per the report, the Dutch giants view the Tottenham midfielder as an ‘unattainable’ target.

With the likes of Jordan Henderson also reportedly on Ajax’s radar, it’s clear that the Amsterdam-based giants are keen on making a major midfield signing this month.

However, with Ajax already low on confidence in signing Hojbjerg this January, a move to the Netherlands seems to be off the table before anything has really started for the Dutch giants.

Lauded as an ‘outstanding’ player by James Maddison, it’s easy to see why Ajax have now taken an interest in signing Hojbjerg this month from Tottenham.

And whilst confidence is already low in the Dutch camp over reaching an agreement with Spurs for Hojbjerg, Ajax’s luck might be better than what appears on the surface.

As we know, Tottenham are eager to offload Hojbjerg this month, and whilst Ajax might not be able to match the demands the north London side have set for the Dane, they can get very close.

With Hojbjerg seemingly having no future at Tottenham, Spurs shouldn’t be afraid to cut their losses with the midfielder, especially if it means a third signing can be made this January.
