Report: ‘Fantastic’ Arsenal player now set to leave North London after being left out against Leicester

Maitland-Niles is among a number of Arsenal players who have been tipped to move away from The Emirates this summer anyway. And according to , yesterday’s omission from the squad at home against The Foxes should see the versatile Englishman seal a move away.

However, it is the signings of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko which have jolted Maitland-Niles down the pecking order. reports how both Maitland-Niles and Hector Bellerin are expected to leave the club before the window shuts on September 1st.

Arsenal, meanwhile, might still move for another new signing or two. It’s been suggested the Gunners might look for another central midfielder, while a right winger to compete with Bukayo Saka is also on the agenda.

The ‘fantastic’ Maitland-Niles has been linked with Nottingham Forest this summer. However, there were claims that Steve Cooper had reservations about signing the Arsenal man.

TBR’s View: Maitland-Niles Needs Premier League Move

Sometimes it just comes to the end of the line for a player and a club and it seems to be the way for Maitland-Niles and Arsenal.

Maitland-Niles has ability and his versatility will appeal to some other clubs around the league. But a loan move will probably not do anyone any good now, and so a permanent switch somewhere is probably best.

Arsenal have spent some big money once again this summer, so for them as a club it makes sense to get AMN off the wage bill and hopefully get a decent fee for him as well.
