Report: Agents believe club have used Tottenham and Chelsea to land ‘amazing’ £55m player
Agents of Raphinha and in the game in general believe Barcelona have used clubs like Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal to get a clear run at their man.
The Brazilian’s future remains uncertain as the Leeds star looks set to decide on his next career move. After helping Leeds stave off relegation, the tricky winger is now expected to move on. Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal have all shown interest in Raphinha in the last few weeks.
However, it is Barcelona who remain firmly in the hunt as well and according to newsletter, there is a feeling the English clubs might have been played a bit. It’s suggested in the newsletter that agents around the deal feel Barcelona have waited for all the English clubs to drop out, before going a tad quiet themselves.
Frustratingly for Raphinha himself, this doesn’t help the situation at all. The Brazilian is said to have his heart set on a move to Barca. However, they’ve yet to demonstrate they have the financial muscle to actually pay Leeds the reported £55m they want.

He’ll probably get a move eventually but this is a nightmare scenario really. The English clubs keen seem to be moving onto other targets and Barcelona appear to be telling one story then another when it comes to their finances.
How they plan on signing Raphinha for more than £55m is a bit of an odd one in general. They are in financial turmoil so the idea they spend so much is bizarre.
For Raphinha, he’ll just want it sorting one way or another. Of course, he’ll want a good contract, but the rest of the fees are essentially out of his hands. For Leeds, it’s also a bit annoying, given they’ve probably already spent the money planned for the sale.
