Agents of ‘complete’ player have flown to Spurs to try to close move for their client

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Radu Dragusin in recent weeks and speculation has been intensifying in the January transfer window.

Spurs have reportedly been pushing to sign the Genoa defender for over a week now, and it hasn’t been easy amid competition from Bayern Munich.

However, it looks as though Tottenham are making really good progress towards bringing Dragusin to N17 this month.

has reported that, despite Bayern’s recent attempt to sign the 21-year-old, he is actually getting ‘closer and closer’ to Spurs.

Indeed, the Italian outlet claims that Dragusin’s agents Florin Manea and Gabriele Giuffrida have ‘flown to London’ to ‘close the deal’ with Tottenham.

Spurs are apparently ready to spend €25million (£21.5million) on the signing of Dragusin, plus €5million (£4.3million) in bonuses.

The negotiations are said to be ‘hot’ and the transfer ‘almost certain’. If all goes well, Tottenham should have a new centre-back in their ranks soon.

TMW has claimed that some news is expected in the coming hours, and even mentions that Dragusin’ salary should be worth €2million (around £1.7million) per season.

Tottenham look like they’re closing in on Radu Dragusin signing

Tottenham’s main priority this month is to sign a new centre-back in wake of the injury crisis that has hampered the team’s momentum.

Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are a superb centre-back pairing, but Ange Postecoglou has been without at least one of them for far too long.

And while Emerson Royal and Ben Davies have done alright when called upon, they are not fully comfortable in that position.

With that in mind, Dragusin’s arrival – should everything go to plan – will be another welcome boost for Spurs after Timo Werner.

Despite being just 21 years of age, the former Juve gem already has experience at the highest level for Genoa in Serie A and the Romania national team, and his ceiling seems really high.

A few years ago, Jacek Kulig of  deemed Dragusin a “complete and dominant” centre-back, and hoped he’d soon be on par with the likes of Matthijs de Ligt and Merih Demiral.

Spurs have had quite a bit of luck with players who came through the ranks at Juve in recent years. Indeed, they’ve done well with players from Italy in general.

So it’ll be exciting to see how Dragusin gets on at Tottenham if Spurs can get the move over the line.
