Agent speaks out on interest in Everton-linked player who’s ‘in front of Ronaldo and Mbappe’

A player reportedly on the radar of Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has been praised by his agent, who nonetheless warned the Toffees and other purported suitors of the challenge they face in acquiring his services.

Everton have been linked with Lazio and Italy striker Ciro Immobile, a suggesting that Ancelotti is keen on bringing his countryman to Goodison Park for next season.

has claimed that Everton will offer Moise Kean in exchange to Lazio in an attempt to bring down Immobile’s reported £43million price tag.

, meanwhile, reckons the Toffees are looking to offer the 30-year-old a salary of around eight million Euro a season, which works out at around £135,000-a-week.

Marco Sommella, who represents Immobile, acknowledged how the player’s stats “speak for themselves” – indeed, only Robert Lewandowski and Erling Braut Haaland can better Immobile’s record of 0.9 goals per game this season.

However, Lazio owner and president Claudio Lotito has a reputation for being a tough negotiator – Italy’s Daniel Levy, if you will – and Sommella warned about the prospect of knocking on his door, implying that Immobile wouldn’t be an easy acquisition.

“Lazio has become a very important power in Italian football. In the past, Ciro made choices and never put the economic aspect before. He always preferred to go where he felt valued, loved, appreciated. Even at the cost of losing,” Sommella told .

“As for the market, whoever wants to (sign him), will eventually have to knock on Lotito’s door. And, of course, also to that of Ciro. He and the team were doing extraordinary things (before the pause). Just remember that the numbers speak for themselves: he is in front of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lewandowski and (Kylian) Mbappe.”

Immobile has been nothing short of sensational this term, his tally of just over one goal per league game contributing to Lazio potentially stopping the Juventus juggernaut’s consecutive Scudetto tally.

As previously reported by , the Italian was on Ancelotti’s radar a year ago, the player said to have been “liked a lot” and “desired” by the then Partenopei coach.

Admittedly, he would be a bit of a gamble for Everton, given his age and the fact he’s never played in England, but if he hit the ground running at Goodison Park and rattled in the goals that got the Toffees up into the European places, it would be seen as money very well spent.

But of course, there’s the matter of knocking on Lotito’s door first…
