Agent rules out Russia transfer for West Ham United winger Andriy Yarmolenko
The agent of West Ham United winger Andriy Yarmolenko, Vadim Shabliy, has told that he has currently had no discussions over a transfer to Russia.
Shabliy was asked if his client could move to the Premier Liga in the summer window amid suggestions of interest. It is not claimed who wants to sign the 31-year-old forward, who only Premier League game last season.
West Ham have sought to offload Yarmolenko for the past year. But Shabliy insists he is not heading for Russia after competing at Euro 2020 with Ukraine at present.
David Moyes marked Yarmolenko as one of his unwanted fringe players last summer, per the . The Irons were striving to raise funds ahead of the arrival of Said Benrahma, although they failed to find a suitor.
Fenerbahce also failed with an attempted loan deal for Yarmolenko in January, per . Despite the Yellow Canaries’ former Sporting Director Emre Belozoglu believing the winger would be the most interesting signing available.
West Ham will surely try to move Yarmolenko on again in the next transfer window. Although he offered Moyes a rotational piece, the winger featured just in the Premier League last term.
But a move to Russia is not currently on the cards, as he enters the final year of his contract. West Ham handed Yarmolenko a four-year, deal when signed from Borussia Dortmund for £17.5million () in 2018.
“The option with the transfer of Andrey Yarmolenko to the Russian club cannot even be discussed,” Shabliy .

While Shabliy has rubbished suggestions Yarmolenko is heading to Russia, West Ham must try to sell the forward this summer. He is the Irons’ current top-earner () but rarely offered Moyes value for money last season.
The Ukraine international – who Declan Rice once ‘really special’ – in any of his Premier League appearances and offered just one assist. His only goals in the EFL and FA Cups also came against League One opposition in Charlton, Hull and Doncaster.
Yarmolenko also averaged just 24 minutes a game over his 15 top-flight outings, which is far from fitting of his salary. West Ham will struggle to recoup anywhere near what they paid Dortmund, but simply must cut their losses before he leaves for free next year.
