‘Agent Rolando’: Wycombe send tongue-in-cheek message to Newcastle fans after beating Sunderland
Wycombe Wanderers have reminded Newcastle United fans that Rolando Aarons played his part in the win over Sunderland.
In Saturday’s League One clash, Phil Parkinson got his Sunderland tenure off to a losing start. High-flying Wycombe stayed in second place with a narrow 1-0 win over Sunderland.

Darius Charles scored the only goal of the game and Aarons played for the majority of the match. Aarons started and was replaced in injury time as Gareth Ainsworth ran down the clock.
Sunderland remain outside of the play-offs after back-to-back losses. The Black Cats would be disappointed with this result and fans did not like Wycombe’s message to Newcastle fans.
After the game, , the following message was posted: “Hey, #NUFC fans… Agent Rolando played a fantastic part in a special #Chairboys victory today…”
Hey, fans…
Agent Rolando played a fantastic part in a special victory today…

Aarons is on a season-long loan at Wycombe, although injuries have limited his influence so far. The 23-year-old was in the starting line-up against Sunderland, though, helping Wycombe to seal the win.
TBR’s view
Aarons is trying to rebuild his career and has dropped down two divisions to do so. He is playing below himself in this division but he has really boosted Wycombe’s promotion credentials.
The win would be even sweeter for Aarons yesterday. Up against Sunderland, he would have had a double motivation. Not only did he strengthen Wycombe’s promotion bid, he got one up on Newcastle’s biggest rivals.
