After Radu Dragusin, Tottenham could now make move to sign his 22-year-old teammate
Tottenham Hotspur are close to wrapping up a deal for Radu Dragusin and they are reportedly eyeing a move for his Genoa teammate Morten Frendrup.
That’s according to journalist Dean Jones, who has shared an update on Tottenham’s search for a new midfielder.
Spurs have already wrapped up a deal for Timo Werner and an announcement regarding the signing of Radu Dragusin is imminent.
Bayern Munich threatened to hijack their move for Dragusin, but Ange Postecoglou convinced the player that a switch to North London was the right fit for him at this stage of his career.
Tottenham mean business this month and are wrapping up deals ahead of schedule, especially when you consider the fact Daniel Levy usually likes to operate towards the back end of the winter transfer window.
Reports have suggested that after snapping up a forward and defender, Spurs will turn their attention to a new midfielder. And it seems that Morten Frendrup is on Tottenham’s radar.
Tottenham could move for Dragusin’s teammate Frendrup
In his latest transfer update for , Jones has claimed that Tottenham’s dealings with Genoa ‘may not be over’.
It’s noted that Spurs’ scouts have been left impressed with Frendrup while watching Dragusin.
Tottenham will continue to monitor the midfielder across the campaign and he has ‘big potential’ to make the move to the Premier League.
Frendrup has racked up a total of 19 appearances in Serie A this term and alongside Dragusin, he’s been ever-present for the Italian outfit.
The 22-year-old has registered four assists in this period in the league from a box-to-box midfield role.
Spurs will be without Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma over the coming weeks, with the duo participating in AFCON 2024.
James Maddison is closing in on a return but Postecoglou is short of options in the middle of the park.
With plenty of time to spare in the window, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Spurs snap up a midfielder for the Aussie boss.
