After Minteh and Anderson, Newcastle also in talks to sell £20m forward who played 26 times last season
Having agreed departures for Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson to ease PSR concerns, Newcastle United could be closing on a third sale.
In the past few days, Newcastle’s decision-makers haven’t exactly covered the🍰mselves in glor❀y whilst frantically attempting to adhere to June’s PSR deadline.
Minteh will reportedly leave the club for Brighton & Hove Albion, having never played a competitive minute𝓰 for Newcastle.
The 19-year-old winger is expected to leave the club on Sunday a🌳fter enjoying a strong season on 𓃲loan at Feyenoord.
And then once Minteh departs, Newcastle will l🌃ikely seek a new winger themselves, explaining the PSR mess they find themselves in.
Of course, it was widely-reported that Minteh’s departure wouldn’t be enough for Newcastle to avoid a three-year rolling deficit, explaining why Elliot Anderson is said to be Nottingham Forest bound.
Newcastle will recoup an impressive sum of £35m for the 21-year-old according to reports, even if a firesale of the club’s strong young players 𒅌still feels very regrettable.

That being said, are now reporting that departures may not end there in the near future, and Callum Wilson could depart too.
Wilson, who cost Newcastle in 2020, played for Eddie Howe on 26 occasions last season, scoring 10 goals amid a few d♏ifferent injuries.
And in a summer in which Newcastle remain interested in Everton’s Dominic Calv⛦ertও-Lewin, 32-year-old Wilson could depart.
According to the report mentioned, Newcas🐲tle are in talks with a Saud🌄i Pro League club to sell Wilson, if the personal terms can be agreed.
And although Howe would be losing a lot of goals if Wilson left, his injury-record has become somewhat unsustainable, especially given he’s often joined in the treatment room by Alexander Isak.
Replacing Wilson with a striker with a better availability record seems like a sensible move for Newcastle, even if they will miss the🐼 England international’s finishing.
As mentioned, Calvert-Lewin could still be an option despite talks breaking down between the two clubs rece൩ntly.
But given the £37m-rated front man has also had his fꦫair share of injury issue♔s over the years, perhaps Howe’s recruitment team may look elsewhere.
