After Chemsdine Talbi, Sunderland now close to signing £50m attacker who Everton have also enquired about
Sunderland are now in talks to sign Brighton & Hove Albion winger Simon Adingra, TBR Football can exclusively reveal.
Regis Le Bris has already welcomed some seriously exciting talent to Sunderland this summer, and Adingra could now follow Chemsdine Talbi to the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland have signed Enzo Le Fee, Reinildo, Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League, and they are showing no signs of letting up.
Of course, Tommy Watson and Jobe Bellingham have already left the club for sizable fees, but Sunderland are doing a very good job of reassuring fans thereafter.
And now Adingra could be the latest name to arrive under Le Bris, a player who’s been linked with clubs like Arsenal in the past.
Sunderland are close to signing Simon Adingra from Brighton
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Adingra has been told by Brighton that he can move on this summer.
Adingra joined Brighton from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland in 2022, and he then spent the season on loan at Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium.

Thereafter, the 23-year-old has gone on to make 73 appearances in a Brighton shirt, scoring 12 times and providing five assists.
However, Adingra made only 12 Premier League starts under Fabian Hurzeler last term and the Seagulls are now ready to part ways with the winger.
TBR Football understands that a number of Premier League clubs have made enquiries about Adingra’s situation this summer.
All of Everton, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest have been in contact with Brighton.
However, it’s big spending Sunderland who have made their move and sources understand that a deal is close to take him to the Stadium of Light.
Tommy Watson could help Sunderland sign Simon Adingra
Ironically, Adingra is being pushed out of Brighton by the arrival of Watson from Sunderland, who signed for the club earlier in the summer as mentioned.
But either way, Le Bris’ side are about to confirm the signing of Talbi from Club Brugge and Sunderland are looking to follow that up with Adingra.
And whilst the fee Sunderland pay will be nowhere near that figure now, it’s interesting to consider that Adingra was previously valued at £50m by Brighton when Arsenal were interested last year.
Adingra has 14 caps for the Ivory Coast and he has been superb at times in the Premier League, explaining why he has caught the eye of several top clubs in the past.
And considering that Sunderland are still in the market for a goalkeeper, their spending could still be far from over.
