Adrian insists Liverpool teammate Alisson Becker can’t relax
Liverpool’s number two goalkeeper Adrian has warned teammate Alisson Becker that he can’t relax on his position in the team.
The Reds have arguably the world’s best goalkeeper in-between the sticks in the shape of Brazil international Alisson.
But the Merseyside giants found a more than capable back-up option in Adrian, who joined in the summer on a free transfer and has played well this season.
The 33-year-old has stepped in during injury problems to Adrian earlier in the season and played 15 games across all competitions.
Alisson is now back in goal for Jurgen Klopp’s side and he’s kept 13 clean sheets in 24 matches across all competitions this campaign.
“Alisson is peaceful, humble and deserves every single thing he has achieved. We spend so much time together, but still I’m here to fight. I won’t just sit down on the bench and wait,”
“He won the Champions League and the Copa America last year. He was the best keeper in the world. But he can’t relax with me around. I’ve proved it.”

TBR’s View:
There is no chance that Alisson will be overtaken in the pecking order at Liverpool, but the stiff competition that runs throughout the squad is exactly the type of competition that is driving them to major success.
Liverpool are running away with the Premier League title this season and they have proven they’ve got a squad all pushing each other.
Adrian is a decent shot-stopper that has done well when called upon and is playing an important role in the squad, but is a million miles from Alisson in reality.
Alisson, 27, is never going to be allowed to get complacent with his position and that may be why he keeps getting better.
