AC Milan confirm they are not pursuing Serge Aurier under current Tottenham asking price

AC Milan will not be making a move for Tottenham Hotspur right-back Serge Aurier as the North London club’s demands are too high.

That is according to reports in Italy, and the Rossoneri’s sporting director himself, Frederic Massara, has also confirmed that there will be no pursuit.

The Ivorian has long been linked with a potential move to Milan but so far he has remained a Tottenham player.

A report from earlier this month suggested that Milan were ready to pay £14.5 million for the player, but that Tottenham valued him more in the region of £20.5 million.

It appears that no common ground has been found regarding the price range. Massara was speaking in a press conference yesterday when he confirmed that the negotiations for Aurier had become too difficult and they would not be pursuing a deal.

“Aurier at the moment is one of the many names associated with Milan,” Massara stated, as . “He is an excellent Tottenham player but at the moment there are no conditions to be able to think about him. He is not a target under these conditions.”

Tottenham are currently light in the right-back area but Aurier’s inconsistent performances have seen him become a potential outgoing transfer, with the funds then being used to find a suitable replacement.

A number of names have been mentioned as potential right-back recruits for Tottenham this summer but for now, it appears that Aurier will not be heading to Milan.
