‘Absolutely perfect’: BBC pundit left amazed by 25-year-old Liverpool player’s passing vs Luton
Mark Schwarzer was left amazed by Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold’s passing against Luton Town today.
The pundit was covering the game at Kenilworth Road for on Sunday evening and singled out Alexander-Arnold for praise.
Liverpool were left frustrated for large periods of the first half as they struggled to find an opener against a resilient Luton side.
Jurgen Klopp’s men certainly had their openings and Alexander-Arnold was central to some of their best moments.
Indeed, the 25-year-old set Darwin Nunez away early in the half but the Uruguayan’s effort came back off the post.

The England international then presented Mohamed Salah with an opportunity later in the half, but the Egyptian’s touch ultimately let him down.
But Mark Schwarzer was impressed with Alexander-Arnold’s creativity in the opening period.
Schwarzer amazed by Alexander-Arnold’s passing
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Schwarzer labelled Alexander-Arnold’s passing ‘absolutely perfect’.
“That was another excellent ball from Trent Alexander-Arnold over the top,” the pundit said.
“You just thought it was going to be dealt with easily by Luton but it wasn’t. It was just absolutely perfect in length.
“Mo Salah takes it on brilliantly but his second touch was a bad one.”
In the second half, the former Fulham goalkeeper added: “Every time Liverpool have created a problem for Luton, it has come from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“He has been accurate with his crosses so far.”

It’s no secret that Alexander-Arnold’s range of passing is a huge weapon for Liverpool and it was on display once again today.
The defender has benefitted from playing in an inverted full-back role for the Reds. But his teammates struggled to finish their opportunities in the first half, with Jota and Nunez both going close.
Liverpool’s frustrations continued in the second half as they struggled to create clear-cut openings.
But when a glorious opportunity fell to Nunez, he skied his effort when faced with an open goal after Mohamed Salah squared it to him.
Klopp’s men were eventually made to pay for their missed efforts as Tahith Chong finished off an excellent counter-attack in the 80th minute.
Yet, Luis Diaz came off the bench and netted an equaliser for Liverpool in stoppage time in what was an emotional moment for the winger.
