‘Absolutely outstanding’: Graham Potter raves about one Tottenham player after last night’s game
Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Graham Potter’s Brighton last night, and Harry Kane was once again the star of the show.
Antonio Conte’s men simply had to win the game at the Amex to keep their top-four hopes alive. The defeat against Manchester United at the weekend was a hard one to take and many questioned if they had it in them to bounce back.
Spurs answered those questions in style yesterday. A bizarre goal from Christian Romero followed by a clinical finish by Kane gave the visitors all three points.
Tottenham are now just three points below their North London rivals Arsenal following the Gunners’ defeat to Liverpool last night.
Graham Potter: Harry Kane is absolutely outstanding
Graham Potter is regarded as one of the best young managers in the Premier League and rightly so.
The job he has done at Brighton really is spectacular, but the Seagulls had lost five games in a row before last night and Kane pushed that terrible record up to six.
While doing so, the Englishman went on to break Wayne Rooney’s record of most away goals scored in the history of the Premier League. He really is a brilliant player and Potter agrees with that assessment too.
Asked if Kane breaking the record is an outstanding feat, Potter told : “Absolutely. Absolutely outstanding player. His record speaks for itself, he doesn’t need me to say anything more.”

A lot was said about Harry Kane after his transfer saga in the summer. More criticism came the Englishman’s way after his poor start to the season, but he has now managed to silence all his doubters.
Kane took his tally up to 22 goals for the season last night and Spurs have 10 games left to play this season.
It won’t surprise anyone if he goes on to surpass the 30-goal mark again and if he does, Spurs may just sneak into the top four ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United.
If they don’t, however, Kane may want to leave again and a number of clubs will be interested in signing him.
