‘Absolutely delighted’: Some Celtic fans are ‘buzzing’ over club announcement on £800,000 player
Celtic have announced that Leigh Griffiths has signed a new one-year contract extension with the club.
The Hoops that the former Wolves star will remain with the club another season. Griffiths struggled for fitness last season and was limited to appearances off the bench for Celtic.

Griffiths said on his new contract: “I am delighted to extend my time at the Club. Celtic is a club I love and want to do all I can to play my part again in bringing success to our supporters.
“I’m looking forward to the season ahead and working with the new gaffer and the rest of the lads. It is an exciting time for the Club and I wanted to be part of the Club’s future. I’ll be doing everything I can to help us get back to where we all want to be.”

Griffiths joined the club seven years ago for a reported fee of £800,000 . Since arriving in Celtic the striker has played over 250 games for the club, scoring 145 goals in all competitions.
Moreover, the Scotland international looked likely to leave Celtic this summer. However, new manager Ange Postecoglou has awarded the former Hibernian star a second chance with the club.
Furthermore, on social media, some Celtic fans are buzzing that Griffiths as an opportunity to impress the Australian manager next season.
