Abraham, Agbonlahor and Villa stars applaud one player on Instagram after win

Ezri Konsa continued his excellent start to the 2020-21 season with another fine display alongside Tyrone Mings at the heart of Aston Villa’s defence during a 2-0 win over Newcastle – and plenty have reacted to his Instagram post.

Konsa, 23, has been a fundamental part to Villa’s impressive campaign under Dean Smith. Coming into the game against Newcastle, Konsa had scored two goals kept six clean sheets in his 14 league games – winning eight of those.

Forming an impressive partnership with Tyrone Mings, there have even been calls for the ex-Charlton and Brentford man to partner Mings in an England shirt in the near future. With Euro 2021 on the horizon, his form is improving.

Konsa posted on Instagram as goals from Ollie Watkins and Bertrand Traore saw Villa ease past a struggling Newcastle at Villa Park – despite manager Smith being in the stands following his sending off against Man City.

Though somewhat in an out of the Villa side in his first season following a £12million () from Brentford, Konsa has made the centre-back spot his own this time around. He is just three games shy of reaching 50 with Villa.

Plenty responded to his post including Tammy Abraham – a hat-trick hero for Chelsea on Sunday. He commented “solid”. Gabby Agbonlahor urged Konsa not to book a holiday in June, suggesting he could be busy with England.

Villa legends Ian Taylor and Paul McGrath gave their take, as did Villa stars Matty Targett, Conor Hourihane, Marvelous Nakamba, Kortney Hause and Frederic Guilbert.
