Aberdeen fans react as Leeds loanee Ryan Edmondson bags brace
A number of Aberdeen fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight for Ryan Edmondson after the Leeds United loanee bagged his first two goals for the club on Tuesday night.
The 19-year-old has not had the easiest time since moving to Pittodrie on loan in the summer. He sustained an injury in training shortly after his debut that looked set to rule him out for up to four months (via ).

With Edmondson initially joining the Dons until January, it appeared that his debut therefore may also prove to be his final appearance for the club. However, he was back in Derek McInnes’s squad before the end of September.
Unfortunately, the struggles had not ended there. The striker went into Tuesday’s clash with Hamilton Academical still awaiting his first start and goal for the club.
Of course, it would have been difficult to be too critical of his goalscoring return given his lack of game-time. But his wait for a goal would have done him few favours as he looks to prove a point to Marcelo Bielsa.

However, it appears that Edmondson may have now turned a corner. He was included in the starting lineup on Tuesday and marked the occasion with two goals in a 4-2 win.
‘Really like the look of Edmondson’
Edmondson was taken off after just 56 minutes. And the supporters will be hoping that any potential injury concerns are alleviated in the coming days.
McInnes’s men face Celtic on Sunday. And a number of fans clearly hope that Edmondson could play an important role for the Dons if he is fit and ready.
Plenty have taken to social media to laud the striker. It was certainly more like the kind of performance that is going to catch Bielsa’s eye ahead of his potential Elland Road return in January.
Here is how some of the Aberdeen fans reacted to Edmondson’s display…
Think we have missed Hayes since he went off. Really like the look of Edmondson. Hopefully his knock is nothing serious and he can get stuck in about Celtic on Sunday.

Wow what a first half of football that was. Untouchable at times Ryan Edmondson looks decent now he’s fully fit again.

2 goals and an assist for Edmondson in his first start
Makes a massive difference when you play a striker who can actually score goals instead of one who’s apparently good because he chases shadows

Edmondson x2 now. The hatrick is on.
Great finish. Impressed by him.
So much better than the likes of May, Maynard, Parker and Storey missing similar chances in the past at Pittodrie. ⚽️⚽️

What a team. A game that a couple of seasons ago we wouldve struggled in.
Here we are 3-0 up by 25 mins. So so pleased for Ryan Edmondson on a goal on his first senior start for the Don’s! 🔴⚪
