‘A priority’: Frank Lampard has now told Everton to sign ‘extraordinary’ £15m attacker – journalist
claims Frank Lampard has now told the Everton board to consider signing Blackburn Rovers talisman Ben Brereton Diaz this month.
Everton’s struggles in-front of goal have been evident this season as they’ve only managed to find the back of the net 14 times in 18 games in the Premier League.
Lampard already brought in a striker in Neal Maupay over the summer but the Frenchman isn’t exactly a prolific goal scorer in England’s top-flight.
Calvert-Lewin has proven to be a reliable source of goals for the Toffees but the Englishman’s progress has been hampered by persistent injuries.
Now, Lampard is seemingly desperate to bring in another striker this month and is eyeing a swoop for the ‘extraordinary‘ Brereton Diaz.

Lampard has told Everton to sign Brereton Diaz
Everton were heavily linked with Brereton Diaz over the summer, with claiming back in August that they were close to signing the 23-year-old.
Of course, the striker remained at Ewood Park but his deal with the Championship outfit is set to expire at the end of the season.
“Strikers have been a priority for Everton. Lampard was disappointed he didn’t get one in the summer. One of those was Ben Brereton Díaz from Blackburn in the Championship,” .
“He’s got a contract that, at the moment, is ending in June 2023, with no sign of a confirmed extension. So, Lampard again has put that name to the board.”

TBR View: Brereton Diaz would provide goals
It’s no secret that Calvert-Lewin is struggling to get back to full speed and has netted just one goal this season.
Lampard needs reinforcements this month and the main cause for concern has been Everton’s ability to find the back of the net.
Brereton Diaz may lack Premier League experience but he’s proven to be a lethal finisher for Blackburn and Chile over the past couple of seasons. The £15 million-rated striker has already netted nine times during the current campaign and as his contract is nearly up, Everton could pick him up on a cut-price deal.
