‘A missed opportunity’ – Three things learnt from Middlesbrough 2-2 Manchester City

Manchester City missed the chance to go third in the Premier League after twice having to come from behind to salvage a draw against a spirited Middlesbrough side on Sunday afternoon.

Alvardo Negredo’s first-half strike against his former side put the hosts into the lead, before Sergio Aguero converted Leroy Sane’s controversial penalty to draw Pep Guardiola’s team level.

Yet City ensured the points would be shared late on when Gabriel Jesus – starting for the first time in over two months – headed into the corner and kept City a point ahead of rivals Manchester United.
