‘A million miles away’: Pundit says £48m Tottenham player has so much he needs to improve on
Brennan Johnson was Tottenham’s biggest signing of the summer.
At , the Wales international cost Spurs more than the likes of James Maddison and Micky Van de Ven, and while he arrived for a big fee, he’s arguably been the least impactful of all of Spurs’ summer signings.
Johnson has been inconsistent at the best of times, and while there have been sparks of brilliance, he’s still got plenty to prove.
Speaking on the , Scott Minto has been discussing Johnson as a player, and while he says he has plenty of good attributes, he says he’s a million miles away from being the finished product at Premier League level.

Johnson is miles away
Minto shared his verdict on the attacker.
“He has raw pace, he’s a very good player and he has lots of potential, but he’s a million miles away from the finished article. I think he’s one to come off the bench to change the game in a certain way because I don’t think he’s cute enough yet to play the way Ange wants his teams to play,” Minto said.
Time on his side
Minto is right, Johnson has a lot that he does need to improve on, but, luckily, he has time on his side.
At the age of just 22, this young man has plenty of time to hone his craft and improve in those vital areas.
Under a manager like Ange Postecoglou, Johnson should be able to improve in the coming years, and it’s not as though he’s a bad player by any stretch of the imagination.
Johnson has a lot to work on, but with the right amount of desire and determination, he could grow into a star at Tottenham.
