What Belgium’s media said about Aston Villa’s Youri Tielemans as he misses penalty v France

Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans was among the players in action last night as Belgium were beaten by France in the Nations League.

Tielemans ended up missing a penalty as he started for the Red Devils and it proved costly in🌳 the end.

A double from Kolo Muani enꦡsured a win for the French, who had seen Belgium level through Lois Openda just before half-time.

For Villa midfi💟elder Tielemans, it was a chance to cement himself in the midfield after what has been a fine start to the campaign at club level fꦓor him.

However, his missed penalty was an unwanted 𓆏highlight really and in the🔯 end, he didn’t quite have the impact he’d like.

And according 🐬to the Belgian media, Tielemans’ whole night was overshadowed by his penalty error.

Belgian media comment on Youri Tielemans performance v France

Giving the Belgian squad their player ratings 💟in the defeat to France, weren’t overly impressed by Tielemans, as they labelled his performance a bit of a ‘mess’.

“Still a🧸 bit of a mess of the evening. His fine game – the pass Openda sent away alone, for example, came from him – was overshadow꧅ed by his missed penalty,” they wrote.

Tielemans was given a six by 🐼the outlet, as a number of other Premier League players also🅺 played.

Jeremy Doku was the star of the show as he was given an eight and compared to Eden Hazard, while Lei𒊎cester defender Wout Faes was sl꧒ammed by just getting a five.

Tielemans still key for Villa

A penalty miss can happen to anyone and at the end of th♚e day, Aston Villa fans will only care that Tielemans comes 𒈔back fit from this break.

The midfielder is very much one of the mᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚost underrated players in the league as he simply goes about his business.

Yes, a goal for Belgium would have helped his cause and given the Belgians a chance of a result agaꦕinst a strong France team.

However, it wasn’t to be and for Tielemans and Villa, it’s now back to business🔯 as usual as they look to keep their fine start to the season up.
