‘A lot of hope’: Alasdair Gold says Tottenham think 19-year-old could break into the first-team next season
Tottenham are playing some brilliant stuff in the Premier League right now, but perhaps what is more exciting is what the future may hold for this Spurs side.
🎉Indeed, while this current crop of players are brilliant, Spurs have a number of stars of the future on their books too.
𒅌The likes of Micky Van de Ven, Brennan Johnson and Radu Dragusin are already making an impact at first-team level, while the academy is packed full of quality young players such as Jamie Donley and Mikey Moore.
Speaking on the , Alasdair Gold has been discussing some of Spurs’ young talent, and he’s named Alfie Devine🅘 as a player Tottenham hope can make an impact at first-team level.

Spurs have hopes for Devine
Gold shared what he knows about the teenager.
🅰“I’m intrigued to see if Devine and Bergvall can both fit into this team next season because there was a lot of hope that Devine would come in next season and push as a real Maddison understudy, but Bergvall is that kind of player as well,” Gold said.
Exciting
🌼This is very exciting to hear, and we’re interested to see how this works out.
🐼As Gold says, Lucas Bergvall has just arrived to play a similar role to Devine, while Giovani Lo Celso will also have something to say about being Maddison’s understudy next season.
൩Regardless, the fact that Spurs have four quality options in this position isn’t a bad thing at all, but, of course, we’re all hoping that Devine can rise up above his peers as it’s always great to see a homegrown star stepping into the spotlight.
🀅Tottenham’s young crop are incredibly exciting, and Devine could be the next youth player to make a real splash for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
