‘A little bit off’… £22m Tottenham player admits his form has dipped recently
Following the weekend’s loss, one Tottenham Hotspur player has now admitted he’s been slightly disappointed with his form recently.
Ange Postecoglou’s side had been showing some worrying signs in their performances of late, which ultimately led to defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In a similar fashion to the recent home game against Brentford, one that Spurs won on that occasion, Postecoglou’s side struggled to play well for large periods.
It was definitely a contributing factor that both Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie were missing against Wolves, with the duo’s importance only delineated further.
However, Tottenham’s eleven did still look strong, especially with captain Son Heung-min back in the side.
One player who dropped out of the starting side on this occasion was Rodrigo Bentancur.
The Uruguayan, who signed for £22m back in 2022, has endured some indifferent form of late, and Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma were preferred.
And on the back of his recent performances, and his quest to get fully fit, Bentancur has now been discussing his slightly disappointing form.
Rodrigo Bentancur admits his Tottenham form has been disappointing recently
Bentancur was speaking in Spurs’s match day programme on the weekend via and explained that he’s still on a journey to reach his peak fitness.
He said: “I feel really good in myself. For the game at Manchester United, I went into it feeling in great shape, physically.

“But then we had a fortnight without any game, so really from a match-fitness point of view, I found it a little bit tough to then come back.
“I do believe that I’m gradually getting back to my pre-injury form.
“I realise I’m still just a little bit off that right now, but I was out of action for over nine, almost 10 months, between the two injuries, and that really is a long time.
“I have to just be calm, keep working hard and training like l have been and then it won’t be long before I’m back at my usual level once again.”
Of course, Spurs fans will remain very patient with Bentancur given the injury he is still overcoming.
And whilst the Tottenham man has endured some indifferent form recently, there’s no doubt that he’ll come good.
Moreover, when he is fully fit, it’ll be interesting to see who Postecoglou chooses to pair in his best midfield.
And with that in mind, Spurs may actually face competition from Paris Saint-Germain to sign a midfielder they’ve been strongly linked with this summer.
