“A great servant” – These Arsenal fans react to Monreal exit
Arsenal have the departure of Nacho Monreal. The left-back has left the Gunners to join Spanish side Real Sociedad on a two year deal.
The move brings an end to the 33-year-old’s six-and-a-half-year stay at the Emirates Stadium. In that time, the full-back has been a reliable and consistent player for the north London club. He leaves north London having made 250 appearances, scoring ten goals and registering 20 assists. He also won three FA Cups in his time in English football.
The Spaniard’s exit leaves Sead Kolasinac as the only fully fit left-back in Unai Emery’s squad, with summer signing Kieran Tierney still sidelined with injury. Given Kolasinac’s capacity for committing defensive errors, the club may come to regret letting Monreal leave in the coming weeks. It would have perhaps been a smarter move to retain the veteran’s services until January, by which time Tierney would be fully up and running for Arsenal.

If Kolasinac fails to step up and impress in Monreal’s absence then the decision to allow Monreal to leave at this stage of the season will be viewed as a mistake.
Following the announcement of his departure, lots of Arsenal fans took to Twitter to share their reactions to the news.
From being a backup at lb to becoming a undisputed starter to playing at CB when we had injuries, all this while always playing for the club without complains and giving a 100 percent whenever he played.
Thanks a lot Nacho and all the best for the rest of your career.— P™ (@SemperFiArsenal)
Great servant for the club, wish him well for his new challenge

Don’t think that was the best to do at this stage of the season but good luck to him
