‘A credit to the team’: Sean Dyche lauds £20m Everton player after beating Chelsea
Everton saw off Chelsea today with another fine home performance and Abdoulaye Doucoure has been lauded by Sean Dyche.
Doucoure once again got himself on the scoresheet as Everton continued to climb clear of the bottom three after their ten point deduction.
For Doucoure, who signed for from Watford in 2020, Dyche’s arrival has been massive and he is now one of the very first names on the team sheet for the Toffees.
Of course, we’ve all seen in the past how Doucoure can produce when it matters.

And speaking about his midfielder after the game, Dyche admitted that Doucoure has been a ‘credit’ to the team and praised the work he’s been putting in.
“He’s been a credit since I walked in. He has accepted everything I have asked of him and more. He’s put endless miles on the clock. He is a credit to the team and the club,” Dyche .
Doucoure is vital for Everton
What a performance by Everton and what a performance again by Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Sean Dyche has asked for his players to stand up and be counted and Doucoure is one of those who has really put himself forward in recent times.
Another massive goal today and another big performance show just how important Doucoure is going to be in keeping Everton in this league.
Thankfully for the Toffees, they’ve picked the best year ever to be docked points. The teams below them appear as good as down really and Everton will have more than enough in the tank to stop up now.
Still, the players have to do the business and Doucoure is certainly doing that just now. As Dyche says, he’s been setting an example and the Everton boss will hope others follow suit.
