‘A brilliant addition’: PL club snaps up ‘exciting’ Arsenal talent, his new employers is buzzing

Hutchinson began his career with Chelsea before joining Charlton in 2014 and then linking up with Arsenal in 2015.

The 18-year-old had risen through the Gunners ranks to Under-23 level, where he looked a cut above his peers.

He was a key figure for the Gunners side which finished third in Premier League 2 last season.

Hutchinson also trained regularly with the Arsenal first team and made the bench on numerous occasions.

However, he never made a first-team appearance under Mikel Arteta.

According to , Marquinhos’ summer arrival was the move that likely made Hutchinson’s mind up.

Chelsea head of recruitment Jim Fraser welcomed the youngster’s arrival in West London.

‘We are delighted that Omari has agreed to sign for Chelsea,” the official club quotes him as saying.

“He is a brilliant addition who joins us as an exciting emerging talent hoping to make a quick impression in the senior game.”

Have Arsenal just made another Gnabry-like mistake?

Arsenal have got slightly better at giving youth players first-team opportunities in recent years.

Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have both graduated from Hale End to become key Gunners stars.

However, Arsenal aren’t quite the finished product in that sense.

The other day, Charles Watts couldn’t believe that Arteta had taken five goalkeepers with him to the United States and not brought Charlie Patino along.

And then you have the Serge Gnabry mistake.

The Gunners failed to convince him to stay, he went to Werder Bremen for £4.2million in 2016, and now he’s a regular with Bayern Munich.

There were reports suggesting Arsenal were going to try and re-sign him – but he eventually penned fresh terms.
