‘A bit of a star’… Pundit admits £15m Tottenham player has really surprised him this season
Robbie Earle has admitted he was unsure what to expect from Tottenham Hotspur full-back Destiny Udogie this season.
Earle has been speaking about Destiny Udogie’s brilliant start to life at Tottenham and feels the youngster has quickly become ‘a bit of a star’ under Ange Postecoglou’s guidance.
Udogie was snapped up from Udinese in the summer of 2022 for a fee worth around .
The Italian full-back spent the last campaign on loan at his former side and racked up more first-team experience ahead of officially linking up with his Spurs teammates.
It’s fair to say that Udogie has benefitted massively from the experience he gained in Serie A and has made an instant impact in the Premier League.

Jamie Carragher recently named Udogie in his Team of the Season, alongside fellow teammates Guglielmo Vicario and Heung-Min Son.
And Robbie Earle is the latest pundit to sing Udogie’s praises following an impressive start to life in England.
Earle admits Udogie has surprised him this season
Speaking on , Earle claimed that Udogie has starred in Postecoglou’s attacking set-up this term.
He said: “Udogie, who knew with Udogie what we were going to get? He comes back into the team from Udinese, he’s been a bit of a star in Ange-ball and the way they play.”

At just 21, Udogie looks set to have a bright future ahead of him in football.
The former Udinese man was mainly used as a wing-back during his time in Italy.
There were doubts over his ability to play as an inverted full-back under Postecoglou. But he has quickly proven just how suited he is to the role.
The youngster oozes class on the ball and his athleticism is a huge weapon for Spurs down the left-hand side.
Spurs have undoubtedly unearthed a real gem in Udogie and the fact he put pen to paper on a new long-term contract recently is a huge boost for the club.
