Were Liverpool wrong to sell Xherdan Shaqiri?

In our view, no. Just because Shaqiri is shining at Lyon doesn’t mean Klopp was wrong to offload him.

Also – as aforesaid – he’s only made appearances, so Lyon fans could be accused of being too hasty in their adoration of the attacker.

The former Bayern Munich maestro obviously has bundles of quality, although he wasn’t offering enough to the Reds on a regular basis.

Shaqiri was also earning , which is quite a lot to pay someone who isn’t regularly providing the goods.

To recoup of the spent on the Swiss playmaker is good business, and the deal seems to have worked out for both parties.
