£8m sale no big deal for West Ham following 20-year-old’s stunning rise
West Ham United player Reece Oxford is reportedly close to agreeing to join Augsburg in a deal that could be worth £8 million.
the 20-year-old is yet to agree personal terms with the Bundesliga outfit.
Oxford has been with Augsburg since January and has made six appearances.

Only three of those have been starts and he also picked up a red card against Freiburg back in February.
On the face of it, it has not been a particularly inspiring stint for Oxford, but that seemingly isn’t stopping Augsburg from pressing ahead trying to facilitate a permanent deal.
TBR’s view
Oxford is a very curious case.
When he burst onto the scene back in 2015, he appeared to be the next great prospect to come out of West Ham’s famous academy.
But things simply haven’t panned out as most people expected, and he has only made 17 appearances for the first-team.

Most Hammers supporters will not be too sorry to see him leave though, and £8 million would be a decent fee considering how few appearances he has managed.
West Ham have a new youngster to worship now in Declan Rice, who has arguably become everything they expected Oxford to.
The England international appears to be the real deal under Manuel Pellegrini and his hard work to get to where he is now has been admirable, and something that has endeared him to the supporters.
