‘8/10’, ‘Looking slick’: One Celtic man seriously impressed the national media with performance vs Motherwell
Celtic stayed at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a 2-1 home win against Motherwell yesterday.
Ange Postecoglou’s side stayed two points clear of rivals Rangers despite going down to ten men late on.
Japanese pair Kyogo Furuhashi and Reo Hatate won the game for Celtic either side of Josip Juranovic’s own goal.
Callum McGregor received his marching orders just before the end of the game to set up a nervy finish.

But the impressive performance of Hatate and his teammates earned Celtic their seventh league win of the season.
The Japanese midfielder scored his first goal of the season yesterday, with a sumptuous effort from outside the box.
The warning signs had been there for Motherwell, with Hatate hitting the post in the first half from similar range.
Media impressed with Celtic’s Hatate
The 24-year-old midfielder sent Parkhead mad with his strike, but nearly turned from hero to zero in the closing moments.
His weak back pass forced Callum McGregor to commit a professional foul and pick up a straight red card.
However, Hatate still impressed plenty in the media with his performance for Celtic yesterday.
gave him a seven out of 10, but he received eights from Glasgow Live and Scottish Daily Express.
: “Looking slick on the half turn and really unlucky with his effort off the post.
“Got his reward with a great strike from the edge of the area but nearly caused catastrophe with a late loose pass that McGregor got himself sent off for.”

: “A fantastic strike in the second half to win it but his performance went beyond that.
“Great range of passing and not afraid to put in a tackle.”
With McGregor now missing in midfield, Hatate will be even more important to Postecoglou in Celtic’s upcoming games.
The one-time capped international has adapted well since arriving in January from Kawasaki Frontale.
He’s been superb in the Champions League this season, having great games against Real Madrid and Shakhter.
Hatate will be hoping to impress in a hat-trick of European matches when Celtic play RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
