£70m player says he had a trial at Arsenal but he was rejected
Arsenal have their fair share of stories about players who almost signed for the club as youngsters.
Indeed, Arsenal have had many future superstars on their books on a trial basis only for the players to not be signed and become incredible footballers elsewhere.
Yaya Toure had a trial at Arsenal at one point, while Federico Valverde had a trial at Arsenal, but he didn’t sign for the Gunners either.
Even Ruud Gullit was once on trial at Arsenal, but he failed to earn a deal with the north London club either.
Now, it’s emerged that one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League at the moment had a trial with Arsenal as a youngster.
Indeed, speaking on , Antoine Semenyo has told his story about his journey to the Premier League, and according to the Bournemouth star, he actually had trials at Arsenal as a youngster, but, once again, he was turned down.

Antoine Semenyo had Arsenal trials
Semenyo spoke about his journey into professional football.
The winger says that he had a lot of trials at different clubs as he was coming up, claiming that he actually went to Arsenal for a trial at one point.
Interestingly, Arsenal have been linked with Semenyo recently, but now, his pricetag is said to be around £70m.
“It starts from 16 to be honest. I had my last trial at Crystal Palace. My first trial was at 12 or 13, during those 12 to 16 years I went everywhere,” Semenyo said.
“I went to Arsenal, I went to Fulham, I went to Palace, I went to Millwall four or five times. I went to so many teams.”

Arsenal rejected the chance to sign Semenyo when he was a youngster, and it’s fair to say they may well have lived to regret that decision.
Indeed, Semenyo has blossomed into one of the better attacking players in the Premier League this season, and his stats show it.

Semenyo is outperforming the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in terms of goals, and amid an attacking injury crisis at Arsenal, the Gunners really could do with a player like Semenyo.
Semenyo has been linked to some top clubs in recent times, and, if Arsenal were to come in for him, he would perhaps be tempted by a move.
Indeed, Semenyo is an Arsenal fan, as he admitted earlier this year.
“I am an Arsenal fan,” Semenyo said.
“I don’t conflict the two with my job. It is great to play against Arsenal, a team I have watched all my life and I want to play for the top clubs as well. In order for that to happen I need to prove it.”
Arsenal need some more depth in their attack, and they could do a lot worse than signing Semenyo in the summer.
