7 tackles, 100% tackle success, 5 clearances: Right-back Spurs offloaded for free dropped a masterclass today
Tottenham Hotspur had Serge Aurier on their books between 2017 and 2021.
Spurs signed the Ivory Coast international for a reported £23million fee from Paris Saint-Germain.
Aurier clocked up 110 competitive appearances for Tottenham, registering eight goals and 17 assists.

But in 2021, the 29-year-old had his Spurs contract terminated by mutual consent.
Aurier joined Villarreal on a free transfer, but he made just 19 La Liga appearances due to various injury issues.
This summer, Nottingham Forest snapped up the full-back on a free transfer.
And on Saturday, he helped deliver arguably the best result in the Reds’ recent history.
Forest were up against a resurgent Liverpool side at the City Ground in the Premier League’s early kickoff.
Jurgen Klopp’s charges were favourites on paper against a side that hadn’t won in the league since August.
However, Forest upset the form book as former Liverpool talent Taiwo Awoniyi netted the only goal in a 1-0 win.
Aurier delivered a superb display, registering seven tackles and five clearances against the Anfield outfit ().
The gave Aurier 7.5 out of 10 for his efforts.
‘Contributed to a really good, all-round team performance,’ they wrote. ‘Pushed forward well while staying alert defensively.’
Right-back – or right wing-back, in the case of an Antonio Conte team – remains a bit of a tricky position for Tottenham at present.
Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal are decent players, but neither has really cemented their place as first-choice.

As for Djed Spence, Conte is still waiting on him to improve on the training ground before becoming a starter.
One can’t help but wonder – what could Aurier have been like under Antonio Conte?
