£5m Arsenal player could now move to La Liga club in early January
Arsenal defender Cedric Soares could be on the move very early in January, with Spanish outfit Villarreal keen on the right-back.
💃Cedric has dropped down the pecking order at Arsenal and was expected to leave in the summer.
However, that deal never happened and the experienced full-back has remained a part of Mikel Arteta’s෴ squad, albeit he’s yet to play in the league this year.
And now, with Arsenal apparently open to offers for Cedric, reports that Villarreal are the club looking to sign him.

🧸The report claims the La Liga side want to take Cedric off Arsenal’s hands and are keen to push through a deal in early January if they can.
💃The Gunners paid on a permanent deal. It remains to be seen if they’ll seek a fee, or simply allow the defender out on loan.
Cedric Soares needs to leave Arsenal
♈Some players just see their time at a club come to an end and this seems to be the case with Cedric at Arsenal.
ꦫThe full-back has done the business in the main and proven a shrewd signing overall given his price. Indeed, he was lauded as ‘‘ by Gilberto Silva at one point.
🤡However, the club and team seems to have outgrown him now and there are far better options for Mikel Arteta to pick from at the moment.
🐷For Cedric, a move to Villarreal is not something to be sniffed at. They are a top Spanish club and have a history of doing well in Europe.
💃This sort of transfer is one where you simply say it’s a good one all around. Cedric gets a move to a decent side, Arsenal get his wages off the books and potentially a fee, and everyone is happy.
🍰January has historically been quite a busy month for Arsenal. So don’t expect Cedric to be the only piece of business done at The Emirates.
