£59m striker left out of game after holding talks with Arsenal, his club don’t want an injury to ruin transfer
Andrea Berta only joined Arsenal as recently as March 30th, but the new Director of Football has quickly got down to business.
Arsenal are on the brink of signing Martin Zubimendi in a £50m move from Real Sociedad – the Spain international is undergoing his medical now – with the Gunners beating Real Madrid to his signature.
Now, there has been an interesting update involving Benjamin Sesko as Arsenal turn attention towards signing a new striker.
RB Leipzig opt to protect Benjamin Sesko
in Germany now state that RB Leipzig have decided to leave the Slovenia international out of their friendly against Santos on Wednesday evening, after he suffered ‘slight knee irritation’ in training on Tuesday, although a potential transfer is also in mind.
The German news outlet believe RB Leipzig do not want the striker to worsen his injury ahead of the transfer window opening on Sunday, as he is their most valuable asset, and any serious fitness problem would jeopardise the chances of a sale this summer.

This update comes after TBR Football learned that Arsenal have held talks with Sesko about a move to the Emirates Stadium.
BILD add that RB Leipzig ideally want €100m (£85m) for the Slovenian, but would be happy to start talks should a bid of €70m (£59m) arrive. It is also said that Arsenal are now ‘positioning themselves’ to make a move, suggesting an offer is on the verge of being submitted.
Why Benjamin Sesko should thrive under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal
Arsenal are known for playing slick football along the ground, but Mikel Arteta has added an aerial prowess in recent seasons.
The Gunners swung 766 crosses into the box last season – only Fulham and Bournemouth made more – and scored 13 headed goals in the Premier League, a total bettered only by Brentford with 14.

This should suit Sesko, who, at the age of just 21, has already scored 13 headed goals, putting his 6ft 5in frame to good use.
For context, Peter Crouch holds the Premier League record for headed goals with 53 efforts – it took the Englishman 468 games to achieve this – so the Arsenal target is clearly very effective in the air, which should suit the way Arteta attacks.
