£57m Man United player reacts after Cristian Romero wins Copa America with Argentina 

Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero has scooped his second Copa America with Argentina.

🔜Lionel Scaloni’s men picked up a narrow 1-0 victory over Colombia at the Hard Rock Stadium on Monday.

Cristian Romero🥀 played the full 120 minutes as Argentina needed extra time to find a late winner against Colombia.

The Tottenham𒉰 star has enjoyed yet another outstanding tournament with La Albiceleste in the heart of Scaloni’s defence.

In five games at Copa America 2024⛎, Romero formed a crucial part of a defence which only conceded once. 

It was his defensive partner Lisandro Martinez who netted the winner in Sunday’s final and the Manchester United﷽ star has sent Romero a message on social media following the victory.

Lisandro Martinez sends message to Romero after Copa America 2024

♌Romero took to Instagram today and expressed his pride at picking up his second Copa America with his country.

❀Following a series of standout performances for Argentina, his international teammates were quick to respond, including Martinez.

The United star wrote: “I love you brother.” 

😼Argentina’s official Instagram account also responded: “What you stand for,” alongside a round of applause emoji.

Romero’s Copa America stats

💫Romero has become a key figure for Scaloni’s side and it’s fair to say the 26-year-old led by example at Copa America 2024.

ꦕThe Spurs star was named on the Team of the Week on one occasion, while his defensive statistics were particularly outstanding.

𒐪Indeed, according to , Romero averaged 4.8 tackles, 1.8 interceptions, 4.1 ball recoveries and three clearances per game. 

🤪His distribution from the back throughout the tournament was also a standout, with the Tottenham man completing 64 passes at a completion rate of 94 per cent per 90 minutes.
