£51m star who Arsenal were offered this summer has just scored immediately on his debut elsewhere

After securing the signing of Mikel Merino, it’s probably fair to say that Arsenal don’t have too many regrets in the transfer market this summer.

Mikel Arteta beat stiff competition to the signing of Riccardo Calafiori – a player who is being allowed time to adapt during his first few weeks at Arsenal.

𒊎Whilst the Gunners failed to sign Benjamin Sesko before the Euros, it would be wrong to suggest that Arsenal should look back with any feeling of missed opportunity.

▨Arsenal saw their chance, made their pitch, but Sesko simply preferred to spend another year in the Bundesliga, following Erling Haaland’s example.

🌱Of course, some Arsenal supporters may feel as if there will be an opportunity missed if the club don’t sign a new forward before Friday’s transfer deadline.

Eddie Nketiah is leaving Arsenal✅, and the funds are surely available to add a wide-forward, someone who can improve squad depth.

That being said, Arsenal were offered the chance to sign Dani Olmo🐷 earlier in the summer, who is already proving what Premier League sides missed out on in Barcelona colours.

Dani Olmo already making Arsenal blush after scoring on his Barcelona debut

Amid Barcelona’s FFP issues, Olmo𝔍 has only just been registered to play for the side, and made his debut against Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday evening.

꧅Olmo scored his first Barcelona goal in the 82nd minute to make it 2-1, the perfect start for the former RB Leipzig midfielder.

🙈As mentioned, both Arsenal and Tottenham were informed of Olmo’s availability earlier this summer, who had a release clause.

♓It ultimately appears as if Arsenal ignored the opportunity – but is that a move they’ll live to regret?

𓆉Arteta and Edu are thought to be in the market for a versatile forward who can help squad depth, and Olmo would have definitely been well-positioned to do so.

ওPerhaps there may have been a worry that Olmo would be demanding to start games immediately, but that’s a pretty healthy problem to have.

And with Arsenal linked with Kingsley Comanꦦ and others before August ends, it’s hard not to conclude that Olmo would have been a better buy.

That being said, journalist Fabrizio Romano has just provided an update on Arsenal’s chances of signing Victor Osimhen by the end of Friday.
