£51m player really wants to join PSG despite Arsenal making initial move to sign him
Arsenal find themselves in a dream position right now with an unbeaten start to the Premier League season, and their third signing already in the bag.
Mikel Arteta’s men haven’t looked like they need any reinforcements with the start they’ve made, having taken maximum points against Wolves and Aston Villa without even conceding a goal.
But, that didn’t stop Arsenal from welcoming Mikel Merino to the club yesterday.
However, they may be forced into some late action as Fabrizio Romano has revealed Eddie Nketiah is edging closer to a move to Crystal Palace, leaving the Gunners with just two strikers.
Though, one attacker in particular looks like he won’t be making his way to the Emirates after Ben Jacobs provided a bit of an update on an Arsenal target…
Ademola Lookman wants PSG despite Arsenal making an enquiry
Arsenal had been planning a move for Ademola Lookman, according to reports, but nothing has materialised at this stage.
And, it doesn’t look as if it will as Ben Jacobs provided an update on the player’s situation on Arsenal related YouTube channel .
“They actually did make an enquiry on the terms but nothing more than that to my knowledge. It’s PSG that are really pushing for Lookman. And unfortunately for Arsenal, Lookman really wants to go to PSG.”
The fact he has his mind set on PSG would come as a blow if the Gunners did want to sign him, though Fabrizio Romano has reported that Lookman’s potential move to PSG has stalled.

Is there any need for Mikel Arteta to sign Lookman?
It looks like it would take £51 million for any club to sign Lookman this summer, which is a lot of money to be splashing out for a player who plays in a position that the Gunners aren’t looking for a starter in.
Ian Wright has already said he wants the Gunners to sign a back-up to Bukayo Saka. However, Lookman usually operates behind the striker, as well as having the ability to play on the left.
Leandro Trossard’s form has picked up amid Gabriel Martinelli’s disappointing start to the season, so there’s already more than enough cover on the left-hand side.
There’s no doubting Lookman’s ability after bagging 17 goals and 10 assists in all competitions last season, but to spend that much on a player who’s not desperately needed just doesn’t seem viable.
