£50m attacker now expected to join Arsenal as soon as the season is over

Arsenal had a very quiet January transfer window.

Indeed, the Gunners didn’t make a single signing in the wintꦿer window, but it wasn’t necessarily for the lack of trying.

Arsenal bid for Ollie Watkins at one point, while Arsenal also made an approach for Evan Ferguson before his move to West Ham.

Arsenal will look to sign a striker in the summer, but it isn’t just a striker the Gunners are aft𝓰er.

Mikel Arteta’s side have also been linked with a whole host of wingers. Rafael Leao has been linked with Arsenal, while Alex Baena has been looked at by Arsenal too.

Nico Williams is Arsenal’s top target in that regard, and according to Steve Kay, speaking on KS1 TV, this deal should get done 🤡at the 🍨end of the season.

Nico Williams expected to join Arsenal

Kay shared what he knows about Williams.

According to the journalist,꧒ Arsenal should move for Williams as soon as the season is over, and he should become an Arsenal player in the summer.

“From talking to people, from what I’🎃m hearing, he’s𒆙 (Nico Williams) another player Mikel Arteta loves and one he wants to bring in. So, I think he’s one of these players who would probably start,” Kay said.

“I would expect Arsenal to drop that as soon as the season is over or on July 1st and put in that r✅elease clause and for him to become an Arsenal player. If you then have a front three of maybe Williams, Sesko and then Saka it’s a very powerful front three,””

Nico Williams is certainly a very exciting player, but Arsenal may want to exercise꧟ a bit of caution here.

Indeed, while Williams was electric at Euro 2024, his form in La Liga this seas🍰on has been underwhelming to say the least.

Williams has scored just one goal all season in the league, and the🐽 last thing Arsenal need right now is𝔍 another attacker who doesn’t know how to find the back of the net.

Arsenal al💜ready have enough misfiring attackers wi𒅌thout another patchy forward in their frontline.

Of course, if Williams rediscovers his form from the Euros or even his form from last season, this would be a great signing for Arsenal, but at a reported £50m, signing a player with one goal all season would be somethi🅰ng of a risk.
