£50m Arsenal target suggests he could leave his club this summer to follow his ‘dreams’

By all accounts, Arsenal are set for a serious summer of spending following Andrea Berta’s appointment as the club’s new sporting director.

Arsenal failed to make a signing in January even if many pundits and fans were calling for the Kroenke family to invest.

Instead, Arsenal are preparing to attack the summer window and Berta has been brought in partly because of experience of brokering huge deals in the European market.

It’s well reported that the Gunners want a new striker but they’ll also be hoping to improve Mikel Arteta’s squad in several other areas too.

Berta has held talks with Benjamin Sesko at RB Leipzig, and Arsenal’s recruitment team may be paying cloe attention to more than one attacker at the German club.

Xavi Simons admits he might leave RB Leipzig after Arsenal interest

In addition to Sesko, Arsenal are interested in Xavi Simons this summer, a midfielder who has netted nine goals in just 21 Bundesliga games this term.

And after links to the Premier League, Simons has actually spoken about his future, suggesting that he might even leave the German club after only joining permanently recently.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg shared the comments on X along with further comment that a departure is ‘possible’ for Simons this summer.

Speaking about his future, Simons said: “I’m still a young player, I have many dreams – and the club knows that. But right now, the most important thing for me is to play well in the upcoming games.

“Then we have the international matches, and after that we’ll sit down and see what happens.”

Simons is ready to move to the Premier League

TBR Football recently reported that Simons could be available for £50m this summer, a playmaker who’s caught the eye of several top Premier League sides.

Now, TBR can add that Arsenal and Liverpool have kept up contact with Simons in recent weeks.

In addition, Manchester City and Aston Villa have also had contact with Simons’ camp.

The Dutchman’s representatives are insisting that Simons does want to move to England this summer, stating that he is ‘ready to try something new’.

An excellent young talent who has already forged quite the career at 21, playing for all of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and PSV Eindhoven before joining Leipzig.
