£50m Arsenal target could leave right at the end of deadline day

Arsenal are at the centre of a transfer storm on transfer deadline day.

The Gunners were tipped to be the most active team on the final day of the transfer window, and they are trying to get a few deals done.

Neto is set to sign on loan from Bournemouth, while Raheem Sterling has been strongly linked with Arsenal.

However, as the clock ticks on, there has been a distinct lack of progress on the Sterling deal.

According to Ben Jacobs, this is a deal that could run late.

Raheem Sterling deal could run late

According to Jacobs, Raheem Sterling’s situation is one that could be resolved right at the end of the transfer window.

Jacobs says that Sterling hasn’t actually spoken to any other clubs so far on deadline day as we edge closer to 11PM.

The England international is in a very sticky situation at Chelsea, and, realistically, he has to get out of Stamford Bridge.

Sterling has no future at Chelsea, and he won’t play for the club again under Enzo Maresca.

Luckily, there is still time for this deal to get done, and Arsenal are lurking in this race.

Arsenal deal could get done

Arsenal are running out of time to get this deal done, but the Gunners have been late movers in the window before.

They signed Thomas Partey at the death on deadline day a few years ago, while Mesut Ozil was another famous late signing.

Arsenal and Chelsea are perhaps the two big English clubs who are most famous for doing blockbuster late moves in the transfer window, and perhaps there could be another big deal on the cards here for the man.

Sterling to Arsenal remains a distinct possibility, but with just hours to go in the transfer window, this one needs to accelerate quickly before the window slams shut.
